Basking in sunlight. The whole northern region of Saturn is bathed in sunlight in this view from late 2016 from our Cassini spacecraft. The hexagon-shaped jet-stream is fully illuminated here. In this image, the planet appears darker in regions where the cloud deck is lower, such the region interior to the hexagon. Mission experts on Saturn's atmosphere are taking advantage of the season and Cassini’s favorable viewing geometry to study this and other weather patterns as Saturn's northern hemisphere approaches Summer solstice. Hey @nasa , maybe we should crash #cassini into #mimas instead of saturn. You know, just in case it really is a death star. @jackieclark123

@lisa.helwigpayne You're right! 🤓And it should, its ten times Earth's size but spins more than twice as fast (rotation just under 11 hours).

why is the top a hexagon?

  • chempu.sangma

So far i thought that circular geometry on sphere is evident every where in the cosmos, but then this hex structure on poles of Saturn made my mind to extend it's horizon of thought, that our cosmos holds more mysteries and awe than we can even think of.

    Hexagonal

  • greenbury_nosnitching

@theonejuicekid why on google maps is the North Pole hole at the top of earth covered? NASA is hiding something from us THE EARTH IS HOLLOW they won't allow any planes to fly over why's that? The wont show any pictures why is that? Because they don't want u to know the earth is hollow

  • theonejuicekid

@greenbury_nosnitching the poles are probably a bad idea to fly through anyways but I'm not sure about why it's covered
